Week 7/52

I woke up early this morning to shoot photos downtown. I didn't anticipate a crowd of people, including soldiers and tourists, congregating at the Alamo at 6:30 in the morning. Needless to say, they were there. The sun tried to make its appearance but the clouds surpassed in strength, which created a nice and diffused light you see here. Here's to the Alamo...

Week 6/52

Today marks the 10th anniversary of one of the most horrific acts of violence our nation has witnessed. We stand, united, to honor and remember those victims who gave their lives on that fateful morning. We will never forget.

Week 5/52

If you've been keeping track of the daily photos I've been posting, you'll notice that I've been inactive for a few days. I'm changing the process in two ways. First, from a photo every night to one every week. This will allow more time for creative ideas, photo-sessions, and post-processing. Second, from self-portraits to subjects of all kinds. The initial intent of creating this blog was to experiment with light, regardless of who/what the subject is. Week 5 of 52...

Day 26: 09.01.2011

I was working fast against time. I whipped up this frame in a matter of a few minutes due to a spontaneous desire to catch rim lighting from the sun set. I initially wanted to incorporate flash but my batteries for the radio transmitters (allow for off-camera lighting) were low...didn't have enough time. Thus, all ambient (natural) lighting; no flash.
