Geez. I know I'm cutting this pretty close given the time of day. Considering I work the majority of the day and really lack creativity today to pull off something really cool, I resorted to some night shots with flash and tungsten. At first I thought perhaps the flash and tungsten lighting from the kitchen nook might not mix well together; however, I think it turned out okay for this shot.
I set my flash, light stand, and umbrella behind the large window. The kitchen light's on, thus lighting the door as you see. My intention was to photograph my silhouette. The result? Something scare-crowish. Happy early Halloween, everyone.
22mm; flash set to 1/2 power; ISO 400; Aperture 5.6; Shutter 5 seconds; tungsten White Balance.
Note: the shot would have been crisper and more eye-popping if I had increased the shutter speed. However, I didn't want to sacrifice ambient lighting. Any suggestions from fellow photographers stumbling across the site is deeply appreciated. =) Anyway, there's 363 more opportunities to improve. Good night, everyone.
Interesting composition, color and mood, Cath. Your next "hat picture", you need to find one of those funky British Lady Hats, tho!
